Anna Cuthbert & Amanda Neill

Design Alchemy Collective is a design-led textile studio redefining contemporary interiors through colour, craftsmanship, and conscious creation. Founded by New Zealand interior designers Anna Cuthbert of Cuthbert Interiors and Amanda Neill of Designworx, the collective unites refined Antipodean design sensibilities with centuries-old Indian textile traditions. Their handcrafted bedlinen and décor collections blur the line between functional object and textile art, offering one-of-a-kind quilts, cushions, and soft furnishings designed for spaces that dare to be different.

At the heart of the collection is an unexpected material story: reclaimed textile underprints. Traditionally discarded during the block-printing process, these excess-ink fabrics are reimagined into statement pieces that celebrate irregularity, tonal variation, and the quiet beauty of the handmade. Each design is block-printed and naturally dyed by master artisans in India, where subtle shifts in colour and alignment become signatures of authenticity rather than imperfections.

Guided by a commitment to sustainability and provenance, Design Alchemy Collective transforms surplus into refined, intentional design. The result is layered, tactile pieces that bring narrative depth to interiors while supporting artisan communities and reducing waste through thoughtful, elevated craftsmanship.
