For Cam Barrett, light is more than illumination — it’s a medium for sculpture, shadow, and intrigue. With a background in 3D art, animation and digital sculpting, Cam brings a deep understanding of form to each piece he creates — blending technology, creative insight, and a strong respect for materiality.
He has five table lamp designs on offer, available in two sizes, alongside a growing range of floor-standing works up to 1.4 metres tall. The pieces explore the tension between organic curves and strong silhouettes, with light and shadow becoming an active participant in the form.
Cam works exclusively with recycled PLA, a renewable polymer made from corn and sugarcane, sourced locally from a company that transforms post-industrial food packaging and recycled plastics into high quality PLA filament. Each outer shell and some internal components are 3d printed, then hand-finished and assembled with care. It’s a slow, intentional approach to making — one rooted in responsibility and craft.
More than lighting, these works are expressions of a belief: that beauty can be responsible, that materials matter, and that design has a role to play in how we shape the future.
