Klaus Todt

After 16 years of designing and crafting bespoke interiors throughout New Zealand through his joinery practice, Living Design, Klaus Todt returns to his first passion: furniture. With this comes K.TODT Design, a practice he originally established in Germany more than 35 years ago.

Guided by a lifelong fascination with materials, proportion and craftsmanship, Klaus thoughtfully designs each piece to outlast trends and be lived with for generations. K.TODT Design approaches furniture as functional sculpture, balancing purpose with a strong architectural and sculptural presence.

His expertise is grounded in a rigorous 10-year education and training pathway in Germany, culminating in his qualification as a Master Joiner or Schreinermeister.

His new furniture range, Collection 42, comprises forty-two one-of-a-kind pieces, each designed without compromise and shaped by an individual exploration of form, material and function. Balancing practicality with sculptural presence, the collection reflects a commitment to craftsmanship, architectural thinking and enduring design. Created to be both lived with and admired, each piece is conceived as a lasting object rather than a response to temporary trends.
