Malcolm Taylor

Malcolm Taylor is an award-winning residential and commercial architect, respected jazz drummer. Due to a childhood accident Malcolm lives with a long-term hearing impairment and brings a distinctive perspective to design. These elements have shaped his architectural work, where acoustics are considered as carefully as form and function.

Over the years, Taylor has designed light shades and wall and ceiling panels that combine sound-absorbing qualities with visual appeal. His solutions have helped reduce noise in cafés, restaurants, offices, and homes, creating environments that are both comfortable and aesthetically refined.

With advances in manufacturing and increased access to recycled acoustic materials, Taylor has expanded this exploration into a dedicated range of products. Developed for design-savvy audiences seeking eco-friendly solutions, these pieces deliver acoustic performance alongside striking design.

Working with his partner and creative director, Nicola Devine – whose love of design history informs both branding and refinement – the duo has crafted a collection aimed at discerning architects, interior designers, and lovers of creative spaces. Designed and made in Aotearoa New Zealand, the range reflects a commitment to sustainability, acoustic comfort, and timeless design flair.
