Sam Fox & Siobhan Seifert

Sam Fox and Siobhan Seifert are the Wellington-based design duo behind Salysi, a Te Whanganui-a-Tara studio founded in 2019 that creates furniture, lighting and homewares designed to feel both joyful and enduring. Drawing on Sam’s Bachelor of Design Innovation (Industrial Design) and Siobhan’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington, they combine product craft with spatial thinking to produce pieces that are functional, distinctive and made to last. Salysi designs move comfortably between bright, colour-forward statement objects and pared-back forms in raw metal or timber, always refined with subtle detailing and careful construction.

Designed and made in-house or in collaboration with local New Zealand artisans and manufacturers, each item is thoughtfully resolved in materials and finishes, with an emphasis on quality and longevity. Their approach encourages customers to keep, repair and pass pieces on, rather than replace them – supporting a more sustainable relationship with everyday objects. Their collection includes mirrors, stools, side tables and accessories – quiet essentials with personality – made to elevate daily rituals and interiors for homes everywhere. From made-to-order staples to bespoke commissions for homes and commercial spaces, Fox and Seifert are building a contemporary Aotearoa design practice rooted in craftsmanship, community and timeless playfulness.
